Reports have recently emerged that the Cabinet of Ministers has agreed to pay the sum of nine million four hundred thousand EC dollars as compensation for the State’s acquisition of a portion of land at Anse Jambette in the quarter of Anse La Raye. The report further states that the entity to whom this is to be paid, does not appear in the Land Registry as the owner of the said property at the time of its acquisition. If this is so, it would be a gross irregularity on the part of the Government. The Saint Lucia Labour Party is therefore calling on the Prime Minister to provide an explanation for this and expects a speedy response in view of its serious and damning implications.

The Saint Lucia Labour Party also takes this opportunity to remind the Prime Minister that he is yet to provide the results of his announced investigation into the Pajoah Letters scandal involving the Economic Development Minister.

End.
