The Saint Lucia Labour Party is deeply disturbed by the manipulation of an official Government of Saint Lucia COVID-19 statistics sheet which has presented false information on the COVID 19 situation in Saint. Lucia. This continuing trend of propaganda and fake news about the Saint Lucia Labour Party administration emanating from some quarters has no place in the fight against COVID-19 or any respectable democracy.
The SLP is aware of the deliberate attempt by some operatives of the Opposition UWP to undermine the new SLP administration’s tenure. We call on everyone to remember and respect the people’s will which was so loudly expressed at the recently concluded general elections held on July 26th when they dealt the UWP one of the most crushing defeats in its history.
The Saint Lucia Labour Party is calling on all Saint Lucians to follow the operating protocols issued by the Government to help fight this current global spike in COVID-19 cases. Let us all take personal responsibility for our health and safeguard ourselves, our loved ones and our country from this deadly COVID 19 virus.
We wish to thank all the frontline workers and all who continue to serve daily in this fight in which the enemy has no regard for political party, religious and any other affiliation. Together we can overcome this.
