Wayne D. Girard was born in April 1978 and grew up in Jacmel, Anse La Raye where he spent his formative years. After moving to Castries he would continue to spend most weekends in the community attending Mass as an acolyte at the Jacmel Catholic Church. Wayne attended the St. Aloysius R.C. Boys School and Castries Comprehensive Secondary School. Upon completion of his A levels, Wayne took up employment at Flow (formerly Cable & Wireless), where he would work for 3 years in order to save the necessary funds to travel to the UK for his University education.

Biography

Wayne D. Girard was born in April, 1978 and grew up in Jacmel, Anse La Raye where he spent his formative years. After moving to Castries he would continue to spend most weekends in the community attending Mass as an acolyte at the Jacmel Catholic Church. Wayne attended the St. Aloysius R.C. Boys School and Castries Comprehensive Secondary School. Upon completion of his A levels, Wayne took up employment at Flow (formerly Cable & Wireless), where he would work for 3 years in order to save the necessary funds to travel to the UK for his University education.

Wayne earned his undergraduate degree in 2004 from the University of Wales in Business with Law and pursued post-graduate, executive education programmes at Chicago Booth/Oxford Said Business School: Corporate Valuation Programme and Oxford Said Business School: Fintech Programme and is currently pursuing a Certificate in Public Leadership at Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Wayne has had a successful career in the City of London in investment banking and corporate valuations and has had the opportunity to consult on several major development projects. Throughout the span of his career, Wayne has continued to support the vulnerable, schools and community-based groups within the Anse La Raye/ Canaries constituency and is looking forward to making a more impactful and sustainable difference at a policy level as the next District Representative.

Wayne has a long held passion for social justice and an understanding of the importance of having every voice heard, citing his grandmother as his main inspiration as someone who lovingly served her community with dedication and distinction. Wayne is determined to make that same positive impact to the people and constituency of Anse La Raye/Canaries. Wayne is a committed husband and father of one daughter, and the eldest of three siblings, therefore most comfortable being in the role of mentor, adviser and supporter.
